Government Flying Service in Hong Kong

The Government Flying Service is the main unit of flying-service in Hong Kong. On first April of 1993, this flying service was commenced, when this country was under the rules of British. And then it has taken above the non-military missions of the RHKAAF. The RHKAAF was the secondary division of the Royal armed forces of the UK.

In 1997, Hong Kong has offered to the persons of democracy of China. The Government Flying Services are liable to police operations, investigate and rescue, firefighting and air ambulance. It remains like a government section of the specific administrative area of the Hong Kong.

The Government Flying Service activates from the South Western End of the International Airport of Hong Kong on Chek Lap Kok. In 1998, prior to the inauguration the Chek Lap Kok airfield, this service is activated from the older Kai Tak Airfield for example the International Airport of the Hong Kong. The Government

Flying Service rounds a four hundreds maritime mile radius of the MRCC. In addition to the air travel information area is also patrolled by the government flying service which is covered mostly areas of the South China ocean basin.

Operations

The Government Flying Service is classified into the following operational sections:

Instruction and values Section – development and professional standards

Quality Section – agreement to equipped principles

Operations Section – Core features regularly such as search and rescue

Administration Section – finance, administration, supplies, human resources etc.

Engineering Section – Repairs of the Government Flying Service tools

Personnel

The Government Flying Service appoints about 238 employees, they may include:

  • 60 civilian employees
  • 178 disciplined employee or commissioned

Mainly the pilots of the government flying service were localized before the offer in 1997 like earlier RAF and others military employee department of Hong Kong.

A controller, who is reported to the secretary for safety, is directed the government flying service. Presently, chief BYM Butt is the controller of the government flying service.

The higher officer in the Government Flying Service may include the following:

  • Department Secretary
  • Chief Plane Engineer
  • Chief Training and Standards Officer

Future

The purpose of the government flying service is to offer the best emergency air services to the local society and those who are livings in the South China Sea. In 2003, the helicopter changes programme after the completing of the goal.

All engineering and flying activities are examined by interior and exterior quality audit organizations. Regular inspections are getting interior and exterior auditors.
